Privacy policy

PlanTape is operated by Huper Technology Pte Ltd, a company in Singapore ("we", "us"). This policy covers plantape.app and the PlanTape app at app.plantape.app. It explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
Your account
To create an account you give us your name, email address and a password. We store the password only in hashed form. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We do not get your Google password.
When you sign in, we keep a session record. It includes your IP address and your browser's user agent. We use it to keep you signed in and to protect accounts from abuse.
Your floor plans
When you upload a plan (PDF, PNG, JPG or WebP), we store the original file and the plan's name. We also store what you make in the editor: rooms, measurements and scale. Floor plans can show an address or an owner's name. Only upload plans you are allowed to share.
For each automatic room detection we log the time, the AI model used, whether it worked, how long it took and how much processing it used. We use this to apply your plan's quota and to understand our costs.
Payments
Paid plans are billed by Stripe. You enter your card details on Stripe's checkout page, not on our site, so we never see or store your card number. We store your Stripe customer ID, your subscription status, your plan and your billing period dates.
Usage data
We use Google Analytics 4 on plantape.app and app.plantape.app. It records pages you view, your rough location, your device and browser, and a few events: signing up, finishing a detection, and buying a plan. Our server also logs requests and errors so we can run and fix the service.
Why we use it
- To run your account and sign you in.
- To measure your floor plans and save your work.
- To bill you and apply the limits of your plan.
- To send you emails about your account and subscription.
- To prevent abuse, such as fake signups and quota farming.
- To see how people use PlanTape, improve it, and measure our advertising.
We do not sell your personal data.
Who processes it for us
- AI model provider. When you run a detection, an image of your plan is sent to an AI model to find the rooms. Today that model is OpenAI's, reached through a gateway we run. We send the image and instructions only, not your name or email. The provider's own terms govern how it handles that request.
- Hosting. The site, app, database and file storage run on servers we manage ourselves, rented from OVHcloud. Your uploaded files are private and are only served to you through our app, after sign-in.
- Google. Google sign-in, if you use it, and Google Analytics.
- Stripe. Payments and subscription billing.
- Google Fonts. Our pages load fonts from Google's servers, so your browser sends your IP address to Google when it fetches them.
Account and billing emails are sent from our own mail server. Some of these services may handle your data in countries other than yours.
Cookies and local storage
We set a sign-in cookie on plantape.app so you stay logged in across the app. It is needed for the app to work. Google Analytics sets its own cookies to tell visits apart. We link Google Analytics to our Google Ads account to measure how well our ads work and to build ad audiences, so Google may use this data for advertising as described in its own policies.
The app also keeps a few settings in your browser's local storage, such as your preferred units. You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser at any time. If you clear the sign-in cookie you will be signed out.
How long we keep it
We keep your account, plans and uploaded files while your account exists. When you delete a plan in the app, we delete its record and its stored file. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account, plans and files. We may keep billing records where the law requires it. Detection results waiting to be collected are held in memory for up to 15 minutes. Google Analytics keeps data for the period set in our Google Analytics settings.
Your choices and rights
You can see and change your plans in the app at any time, and delete them there. You can email us to:
- get a copy of the personal data we hold about you,
- correct it,
- delete your account and its data, or
- ask a question or make a complaint about how we use it.
We may need to confirm it is really you before we act. You may also have other rights under the law where you live. To limit Google Analytics, you can use a browser setting or extension that blocks it.
Security
Traffic to PlanTape is encrypted with HTTPS. Uploaded files are not publicly accessible. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.
Children
PlanTape is a work tool for adults. It is not meant for children, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as PlanTape changes. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page.
